Trash the Dress

Well, my dress is by no means ruined! We had the wonderful opportunity to take some more pictures with the ever so talented Matt McGraw! He needed subjects for a trash the dress photo contest and we were some of the lucky ones! Below are some of the shots that he has sent us, I'll post the rest when we get them! Enjoy!!

Alan's Winning Streak...

Since winning 2nd Place at the Ducks Touranment, Alan has "been on tour" and done GREAT! After Ducks we headed to Pirate's Cove where we (yes, I actually got to fish this one!) placed 5th in the Alice Kelly Ladies Billfish Tournament, I caught another sail and we had a great day! Then I had the pleasure of weighing-in the new state record blue marlin at 1228.5 lbs, she was unbelievable! I'll get some of those pictures up soon!

Following Pirate's Cove, Alan went to fish the Virginia Beach Billfish Blast and placed 5th Overall fishing on the Maggie! He had a great time fishing with that crowd!

Yesterday, Alan wrapped up his "tour" at home by winning 3rd overall and 2nd place dolphin in the Beaufort Offshore Celebrity Classic! Now we get a chance to take a deep breath and catch up on life a little!

Much love,
Alan & Carole

So Much Sadness....

There has been an extreme in loss lately it seems. To those we know who have lost loved ones, you are in our prayers, and for those who we have lost we know that you are in a better place full of grace and happiness. We love and miss you all.

Much love,
Alan & Carole

"Ah! There is nothing like saying home for real comfort."
-Jane Austen-

We thought the first half was busy...

of summer that is, well, was. The second half of summer has completely passed us by!

Tournaments are finally winding down and we will be home more! But let's recap the last month for everyone! We were on the road a lot during July, we went to Hatteras for the Hatteras Grand Slam tournament, and I got to ride back on the boat and do a little fishing and boat driving!

But the first weekend in August, Alan was fishing in the Annual Ducks Unlimited Billfish Tournament and they came in second place! We had a great time at the party needless to say!

I've also tried my hand at surfing some this summer (seriously, the bruises...), but Alan took Tropical Storm Cristobal as a chance to catch some real waves, the break was at the end of the Pier and hard to take pictures of, but here's one of the shots I got.

We also did some red drum fishing in the Neuse River with our good friends C.R. and Dawn. Alan caught this one! We haven't had the chance to go back because Alan is back in school four nights a week (because we weren't busy enough), but hope to squeeze in some more drum in a few weekends.

We'd also like to give a "shout-out" to our friends Beth and Wade! Here is Beth at her shower, making pregnant in August look fabulous, a few weekends ago, we can't wait to meet "Baby Girl F"!

We hope that everyone is doing well, and hope that we can get back to regular blogging now that fall is on the way! We hope to see everyone soon!

Much love,
Carole & Alan
